About the Name

At one time, the Cawston Ostrich Farm was the most popular tourist destination in South Pasadena. The ostriches are long gone, but you can still see an old ostrich feeder on the north wall of Meridian Iron Works. Go check it out the next time you're at the Farmer's Market or hopping on the Gold Line. Get a hold of me here.

School Bus Sting Gets Mixed Reviews

I was driving east down Huntington Drive a while back during an SPPD pedestrian sting, and it was just strange. The first thing you notice are the cones saying you can’t turn left on Fletcher. So, of course, you look up Fletcher to see why the road is blocked off. Then you see a ton [...]

Measure S: Parcel Tax Poised to Pass*

Yes: 67.3%   No: 32.7% The county says results are counted for all 21 precincts, but since 2/3 voter approval is required, I’m gonna wait for them to make it official. 5,934 residents voted, out of 15,112 registered voters. That’s 39%. The estimated cost of the election was $65,000. *Yes on S reports “there are still [...]
