This week’s police report comes with a back-to-school reminder from the South Pasadena Police Department: “With school starting next week, we would like to remind parents not to double park when dropping off and picking up your children. RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE

• 8-19-10, 6:23 PM, 1100 block of Brent. ’86, Ford Aerostar. Officer is alerted to stolen vehicle parked on the street by the Automated License Plate Reader. Vehicle is found to be stolen from East LA.

STOLEN VEHICLE

• 8-20-10, 9 PM to 8-21-10, 9:57 AM, 1800 block of Olive. ’99, Toyota Camry. Recovered on 8-22-10 by CHP – East LA.
• September 2010 to 8-19-10, 1200 block of Huntington. ’08, Mercedes C350. Victim leases vehicle to suspect and suspect stops paying. Suspect possibly attempts to re-register vehicle.

AUTO BURGLARY

• 8-23-10, 12 PM to 12:45 PM, 700 block of Fair Oaks. ’86, Chevy Astro van. Suspect(s) force window down to gain entry. LOSS: Electrical tools.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

• 8-22-10, 6 AM to 10:15 AM, 100 block of Monterey (apartment building). Suspect(s) make entry by an unlocked front door. Suspect(s) takes loss and also enter victim’s parked vehicle in the carport. LOSS: Laptop computer, purse, car keys and WII game system.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY/SHOPLIFT

• 8-23-10, 6:23 PM, 600 block of Fair Oaks (Bristol Farms). Employee see suspects pushing a shopping cart around store containing loss. Employee then sees suspects exit store with shopping cart without paying. Suspects enter a vehicle and drive away. LOSS: Liquor. SUSPECTS DESCRIPTION: S1 – Male, Black, 30-35 years. S2 – Female, Black, 30-35 years, 505, 150. SUSPECT VEHICLE: Gray, Ford Mustang.
• 8-18-10, 9:13 PM, 1700 block of Garfield (Ralphs). Employee sees suspect enter the store and walk to the liquor aisle. Employee then sees suspect holding loss and exit store without paying. LOSS: Liquor. SUSPECTS DESCRIPTION: S1 – Male, Asian, 508, medium build, wearing all black clothing. S2 – Male, Asian, 508, medium build, wearing white shirt, black pants and baseball cap.

DRUNK IN PUBLIC

• 8-19-10, 8:00 PM, 100 block of Marmion Way. Officer sees suspect lying in the park and suspect is found to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, 18 years, Los Angeles.
• 8-19-10, 7:35 PM, 1000 block of Arroyo Verde. Officer responds to assist fire dept. on a person lying in the street. Suspect is friends with person lying in the street and admits to drinking alcohol. Suspect is found to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself and arrested. Person lying in the street is found to be a juvenile and heavily intoxicated, and is transported to the hospital by fire department. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Juvenile.

DUI

• 8-24-10, 10:08 PM, Orange Grove/110 freeway. Officers respond to a traffic collision and party involved is found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, 22 years, Pasadena.
• 8-24-10, 9:20 PM, Fair Oaks/Spruce. Suspect is stopped for a traffic violation and found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, 54 years, Los Angeles.
• 8-22-10, 9 PM, Huntington/Pine. Suspect is stopped for a traffic violation and found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, 32 years, Rosemead.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA

• 8-23-10, 12:58 PM, 1800 block of Olive. Officers respond to suspicious person possibly smoking marijuana. Upon arrival, officers locate suspect who is in possession of marijuana. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, 21 years, Alhambra.
• 8-20-10, 2:11 AM, Huntington/Fremont. Suspect is stopped for a traffic violation and found to be in possession of marijuana. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, 27 years, Temple City.
• 8-19-10, 9:15 AM, 1100 block of Fair Oaks. Officers respond to a suspect yelling at customers. Officers locate suspect who is in possession of marijuana. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, 41 years, Transient.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY

• 8-22-10, 10:30 AM, 1900 block of Huntington. Suspect approaches victim and challenges victim to a fight. Victim refuses and suspect starts to punch victim. Witnesses break up fight and suspect is arrested. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, 41 years, Lakeside, Arizona.

THEFT

• 8-18-10, 2 PM, 1200 block of Fair Oaks (Pavilion). Suspect(s) takes loss from victim’s purse as victim leaves purse unattended in shopping cart, while shopping.

IDENTITY THEFT/CREDIT CARD FRAUD/CHECK FRAUD

• 8-16-10 to 8-20-10, 1200 block of Huntington. Suspect(s) gains access to victim’s credit card and makes several unauthorized purchases.
• July 2010 to 8-18-10, 1200 block of Indiana. Suspect(s) gains access to victim’s credit card and makes several unauthorized purchases.
